Jeremy Paxman supports Amnesty International

11 12 2017

British broadcaster and journalist Jeremy Paxman stars in a new campaign for Amnesty International, promoting the charity's annual Write for Rights campaign, which encourages people to send letters of support to victims of human rights abuses around the world.

Paxman is seen teaching the digital generation how to use a pen and paper in the tongue-in-cheek video, and commented 'Imagine being imprisoned or tortured simply because of what you believe.... Amnesty International has discovered that letters from other human beings not only bring comfort to those being persecuted, but - if enough of us do it - they can also persuade governments to set people free'. Dame Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Vanessa Redgrave, Sir Sir Anish Kapoor, Dame Dame Vivienne Westwood and the Kaiser Chiefs are also supporting this year's campaign.
